Motivación para el ministerio multiculturalSoy un coreano-brasileño de 1.5 generaciones. Emigré con mi familia cuando estaba en la escuela primaria y crecí en Grot durante 20 años. Y al crecer allí, siempre me pregunté por qué los coreanos y los latinos no pueden estar juntos. Pensé que si trabajábamos juntos, podíamos hacernos más fuertes. Incluso cuando vine a los Estados Unidos, ese pensamiento no abandonó mi mente. En 2016, decidí construir una iglesia de segunda generación y escribí un M.Div. tesis / plan ministerial. Luego, con el permiso del pastor y la sesión, comencé un ministerio multicultural.Un ministerio multicultural es una reunión de personas de todas las culturas para adorar y servir juntos.La iglesia de inmigrantes coreanos está experimentando un cambio generacional: los conflictos surgen a menudo y las iglesias se están cerrando y reconstruyendo. En este momento, nuestra comunidad e iglesias coreanas no solo deben pensar en sí mismas, sino también abrir sus corazones y ponerse de pie junto a sus vecinos. Debemos reconocer y respetar nuestras diferencias para formar un Cuerpo de Cristo.Comencé a trabajar en español (adoración) en Sun Rising Church, pero finalmente quiero aceptar y trabajar con personas de otras culturas. Motivation for multicultural ministryI am a 1.5- generation Korean-Brazilian. I immigrated with my family when I was in elementary school, and grew up in the Grot for 20 years. And growing up there, I always asked why Koreans and Latinos can't be together? I thought that if we worked together, we can grow stronger. Even when I came to the United States, that thought did not leave my mind. In 2016, I decided to build a second-generation church and wrote an M.Div. thesis/ministerial plan. Then, with the permission of the pastor and the session, I started a multicultural ministry.A multicultural ministry is a gathering of people from all cultures to worship and serve together. The Korean immigrant church is undergoing a generational change — conflict arises often, and churches are being closed and rebuilt. At this time, our Korean community and churches should not only think about themselves, but open their hearts and stand up together with their neighbors. We must acknowledge and respect our differences to form one Body of Christ.I first started Spanish work(worship) at Sun Rising Church, but I eventually want to accept and work with people from other culture.
